Overview
The ZestCoin team contacted me for assistance with their design and branding, and after researching, I was eager to support an excellent cryptocurrency concept aimed at revolutionizing charitable donations through blockchain technology. Their mission was to ensure that funds reached those in greatest need by aiding non-profit organizations and charities globally. To achieve this, they planned to implement mechanisms such as token burns and allocating a percentage of all trading fees to support meaningful community projects.
Initial Challenges
Before the rebranding, ZestCoin's identity featured a playful lime with sunglasses. While fun, this imagery didn't align with the professionalism and trustworthiness essential for a blockchain project focused on charity. Additionally, their social media presence lacked cohesion, and their website needed an overhaul to effectively convey their mission and technology.

My Impact
The ZestCoin team approached me, leveraging my previous experience as the design lead at KILTR. Zestcoin had visions of a rebrand, website and enhancements to their digital presence across platforms.
Brand
Objective
Transition ZestCoin's image from a casual lime cartoon to a professional brand that resonates with blockchain values and appeals to both investors and charitable organizations.
Approach
Hold fun Discord workshops with the community to explore their visions for the brand's future. It’s always great to connect with everyone and hear their creative ideas! We replaced the playful lime with an abstract design that features block shapes, symbolizing blockchain technology. We've maintained the original bright colors for brand recognition, while introducing a more polished look.

Like many crypto projects, it’s all about conveying information in a way that’s easy for users to understand. I wanted to design the site that helped convey the cutting edge technology of the blockchain but do it seamlessly across desktop and mobile devices.

Promoting a blockchain project involves numerous roadshows and seminars spanning from Asia to South America so a huge part in adopting new users comes from the initial interaction at these events. Everyone loves to get some cool free ‘swag’

Created merchandise like t-shirts, hats, and tote bags featuring the new logo, ensuring consistency in brand representation.
Reflections
Successes:
Community Engagement: After the rebrand, social media interactions rose as the community reacted well to the new professional image, leading to higher activity on Discord.
Unforeseen Setback
Despite the positive momentum, ZestCoin faced a significant challenge when a large portion of funds was stolen by scammers leading to a substantial loss of funds. This incident forced the project's closure.
